RECREATIONAL PILOT PERMIT COURSE
The Recreation Pilot Permit allows you to fly a single engine aircraft with a maximum of four seats anywhere in Canada with one passenger only. Age requirement for the Recreational Pilot Permit is 16 years.
Island Pacific Flight Academy offers the Recreation Pilot Permit based on the minimum of 25 hours of flight training required by Transport Canada. Of that a minimum of 15 hours must be dual instruction and 5 hours must be solo. The requirements stipulate that you will complete 2 hours dual cross-country flying.
Medical requirement is a Category 4 (must include doctor's signature) or 3. (Proof of medical shall be produced at the time of the written examination).
Island Pacific Flight Academy provides a Ground School program as preparation for the written examination administered by Transport Canada, 10 hours of flight time is required before writing the exam.
The number of hours to complete the course will depend on your other commitments, number of hours flown per week, weather, etc.
